Brentford have reportedly joined Arsenal in pulling out of the race to sign Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk, with the Bees now likely to move for the Ukrainian international in January.

According to Sam Dean of the Telegraph, Thomas Frank’s side will not be making a deadline day move to sign the 21-year-old attacker, with Arsenal also reportedly not moving for Mudryk today with the winger’s £25m price tag too high for either Premier League side.

Both London clubs are looking to complete deals this deadline day with Arsenal reportedly looking to sign Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz whilst Brentford are working on offloading numerous players to trim down the squad, yet one player who won’t be moving to the English capital is Mudryk.

The attacker, labelled as ‘incredible’ by the Ukrainian press, is regarded by many as one of the eastern Europe’s most exciting talents, yet with so little time left on the clock for clubs to make transfers, it makes sense why both Arsenal and Brentford are waiting until January to sign Mudryk.

Mudryk’s reputation has surged in recent days following reports of Arsenal’s interest in the 21-year-old attacker, yet with the Gunners and now Brentford dropping out of the race to sign the winger, both London clubs could do battle with one another for the youngster’s signature in the January window.

Indeed Mudryk is one of Europe’s premium talents and will one day be playing for one of the continent’s biggest sides, which is why in January both Arsenal and Brentford will likely duke it out for the Shakhtar star’s signature in five months time.
