Arsenal won’t be signing Mykhaylo Mudryk on deadline day with the Shakhtar Donetsk winger considered too expensive right now.

The Gunners have had most of their transfer business done for a while now, but they are being linked with signings again.

Arsenal have allowed Nicolas Pepe to leave the club, sanctioning a season-long loan move back to France with Nice.

That leaves Arsenal a little short out wide and fans would like to see another winger arrive – but that may not be happening.

Arsenal won’t be signing Mykhaylo Mudryk

One name in the mix for Arsenal this week has been Shakhtar Donetsk ace Mykhaylo Mudryk.

Fabrizio Romano reported earlier this week that Arsenal had made contact to try and explore a potential deal for Mudryk.

CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs then reported that Arsenal had started talks around £10million away from Shakhtar’s asking price.

That was thought to be £25million up front with add-ons taking the deal even higher.

Whatever Shakhtar were demanding, it seems to have been too rich for Edu’s blood.

The Daily Mail claim that Arsenal have deemed Mudryk too expensive, just like Wolves wide man Pedro Neto.

That means a deal before tonight’s transfer deadline now isn’t expected – and whether Arsenal can find another winger remains to be seen.

Mudryk, 21, appears to be a huge talent and has been backed for a big future over in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian press have called Mudryk an ‘incredible’ dribbler whilst likening his decision-making to that of Tony Soprano, which is quite the comparison for many reasons.

Arsenal already have one Ukrainian star in Oleksandr Zinchenko and adding another in Mudryk could have been hugely exciting.

This may be one to look at in January but Edu will seemingly have to go back to the drawing board in search of a new winger.
