According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal, Leeds and Nottingham Forest target Cody Gakpo would love a move to the Premier League.
What’s the story?
Well, this is a boost for the English trio, who are all hoping to sign the Netherlands international.
Gakpo has already admitted that Leeds “got in touch” with him about a move to Elland Road, and Jesse Marsch remains interested in signing the Dutchman.
In regards to Nottingham Forest, the Premier League newcomers have already sent a bid to PSV Eindhoven, as Steve Cooper looks to add to his many signings at the City Ground.
Elsewhere, Arsenal want Gakpo after missing out on Raphinha to Barcelona.
Romano adds that Manchester United are holding internal discussions about whether to make a move for the 23-year-old, who enjoyed a simply phenomenal 2021/22 campaign.
In 46 appearances, Gakpo scored 21 goals, while also providing 15 assists.
It remains to be seen where the PSV Eindhoven No.11 ends up, but the Premier League sides interested in his signature will surely be pleased to hear about his desire to play in England’s top-flight.
Arsenal, Leeds or Nottingham Forest may need to spend a fortune
In our view, Gakpo has the potential to follow Luis Suarez and Robin van Persie in leaving the Eredivisie for success in a major European league.
36 goal involvements in one season is incredible, and seeing as he has a contract until June 2026 in the Netherlands, PSV Eindhoven are well within their rights to demand a huge fee.

Gakpo is also a huge fan favourite, with supporters creating a huge contract for him in the stands in a bid to keep him at the club – interestingly, he signed it.
It has been said that PSV Eindhoven value their Academy graduate at £40m, which is a fair price given his outstanding efforts in the 2021/22 campaign.
Keep an eye on this situation, as Gakpo could soon be moving to the Premier League.
