It’s fair to say that this hasn’t been the best season of Dele Alli’s career at Tottenham Hotspur.
The midfielder has barely played this season, and there have been reports that he’s keen to leave the north London club on a permanent basis.
Unfortunately, it seems as though the two-time PFA Young Player of the Year winner has regressed a little bit in recent times, but there is reason to believe that he can turn things around.
Indeed, Tottenham seems to be a club that lends itself well to players redeeming themselves, just look at how Tanguy Ndombele has turned things around over the past 12 months, and there’s reason to believe that Alli can do similar.

First and foremost, he has the talent. Anyone who watched Tottenham in their pomp under Mauricio Pochettino will tell you that Alli is good enough to light up the Premier League. After all, this is a man who once scored 18 Premier League goals in a single season.
Importantly, he’s also got the right attitude, it was only last week that Paul Robinson was commending him for how well he’s conducted himself through a difficult season.
It seems as though he’s growing in confidence, posting an encouraging message on Instagram this week that hints he’s feeling more and more like his old self.
Add into that the fact that there may be an opportunity for him on the horizon, with Mourinho hinting that Ndombele may drop into a deeper role, freeing up a spot in Alli’s favourite number 10 position, and all the pieces may come together for the England international to re-establish himself.
It’s not going to be easy, and there’s a lot that he has to prove to himself and to his manager, but it seems as though things may fall in place for Alli to enjoy an Ndombele-esque resurgence in the coming months.
