Chelsea could top off a remarkable transfer window with a marquee deal for Joao Felix.

The Blues have made headlines again this summer for continuing their endless spending spree.

They have already added nine new signings to Enzo Maresca’s squad but they have now set their sights on a new target – Joao Felix.

With Conor Gallagher closing in on a move to Atletico Madrid, Chelsea were looking to bring striker Samu Omorodion in the other direction.

However, their deal for the 20-year-old has collapsed and HITC can confirm that Joao Felix’s name has now emerged in conversations.

Having already negotiated a huge deal with Jorge Mendes for Pedro Neto over the weekend, Chelsea are now talking to the superagent again over Felix.

Aston Villa have been locked in talks with Atletico for Felix but Chelsea could now steal a march on their Premier League rivals.

Joao Felix comments at Chelsea

Felix spent six months at Chelsea on loan for the second half of the 2022-23 season.

After being sent off on his debut, Felix won over the Chelsea faithful and ended his spell with four goals in 20 appearances.

During his time at Stamford Bridge, Felix commented on his future and a potential return to Chelsea.

“I don’t know yet my future but these four or five months I’ve loved it,” Felix said in May 2023.

“It’s a top club, everyone in the club is very good to me, my teammates are unbelievable and I really like to be here.”

Villa are prepared to make Felix the highest-paid player at Villa Park as they attempt to get a deal over the line.

But Felix clearly has good memories from his time at Stamford Bridge and he could join the plethora of attacking talent available to Maresca.
