Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for a return to Europe after 12 months without any midweek games.
With the new Premier League season less than a month away, you will start to get fans and media alike making their predictions.
Many are used to Jamie O’Hara getting excited by Tottenham’s summer window, then starting the season well, backing them for the title and then watching them falter towards the end.
Even though Spurs disappoint him again and again, he still repeats himself, but under Ange Postecoglou, the fans are very much right to be as excited as they have ever been.
Slowly but surely, Postecoglou is now starting to mould the squad into his own, including Tottenham securing the transfer of Archie Gray.
That was one of their bigger deals and they will be hoping there is more to come before the summer transfer window slams shut on August 30.
Who should the Europa League side sign next? You feel they could probably add a player for each position on the pitch, it was even suggested Tottenham should sign a La Liga star to replace Guglielmo Vicario.
But, like for many clubs, the forward areas get talked about the most, with those at Hotspur Way being no different.
Jamie O’Hara put forward the name of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford and how he has a ‘soft spot’ for the speedster, as he told talkSPORT (22/07/24 at 8:10 am).
Rashford was left out of Gareth Southgate and England’s Euro 2024 squad, which would have been a big blow to the player and he now has a thing or two to prove.
O’Hara added that Rashford has ‘star quality’ and he would sign him for Tottenham, but Dean Saunders told him ‘you would get sacked’ if he signed a player as inconsistent as that.
Marcus Rashford at Tottenham Hotspur
“I like Rashford,” said O’Hara. “I have got a soft spot for Rashford. I don’t know why. Watching him last season, he frustrated the hell out of me when he is walking around at Luton and you are thinking ‘come on, mate. Give me more’. But he has star quality. He has got it. He has the X-Factor. If you get a manager that gets the best out of him, then you are going to get a top player.”
Saunders asked: “Would you pay £80 million for him?” To which O’Hara responded ‘Yes’ and the ex-Wales striker asked again: “You would pay £80 million, for Marcus Rashford?”
O’Hara then added: “I would love to see him at Tottenham.” And Saunders told him: “You would end up getting sacked. For me, it’s too big a risk. I don’t know how he is going to play most weeks. He is sometimes Marcus Rashford, do what you just said and terrorise people. Then sometimes he is walking around in a daze.”

Marcus Rashford would be incredible under Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham
Yes, Rashford blows hot and cold way too much, whether that’s under Erik ten Hag or any of his previous managers.
But you feel the time is now right for the 26-year-old to leave Old Trafford and start a new chapter elsewhere.

A place like Tottenham, and under the expansive and all-action style of play of Postecoglou, would work and it would be a match made in heaven.
Spurs are looking for that X-Factor player to take their forward line, alongside Son Heung-min, to the next level and you can just see Postecoglou getting the best out of Rashford, which would then equate to close to 20 league goals.
