VfL Wolfsburg winger Omar Marmoush has announced he will stay at the Bundesliga club this season despite strong links to Arsenal and Tottenham this summer.
Speaking to WAZ, the Egyptian international made the astonishing announcement that he will stay with Wolfsburg following a summer of speculation surrounding the 23-year-old attacker, with Arsenal and Tottenham both reportedly interested in the forward, as well as Nottingham Forest.
Marmoush said: “I’ve decided that I’m staying at Wolfsburg,” and this news could come across as a big blow for the two north London sides, who are both looking to sign a wide attacker before the closure of the transfer window, with Wolfsburg reportedly valuing the Bundesliga star at £20m.
A star player for VfB Stuggart last season, Marmoush impressed out on loan for the German side as they narrowly avoided relegation down to the second-tier, and this season has seen the attacker become an immediate starter with Wolfsburg, with the youngster starting both games for Die Wolfe, the most recent of which was against Bayern Munich.
With Marmoush starting every game for Wolfsburg already this season, it makes sense why the attacker has decided to stay with Niko Kovac’s side, with the Croatian manager aiming for a European finish this campaign after the club missed out on continental football last year.
Indeed, Marmoush deciding to stay at Wolfsburg is a huge coup for the German side, and for Arsenal and Tottenham, the winger’s stunning announcement is a big blow for their transfer plans in the remaining weeks of the window given that both sides are looking for a wide attacker.
Marmoush staying at Wolfsburg is the last thing Arsenal & Tottenham needed

Marmoush showed last season with Stuttgart that he is a winger with the potential to become something special, and staying at Wolfsburg is arguably the best decision the attacker could have made for his development, much to the dismay of both Arsenal and Tottenham.
After all, both Premier League sides are looking for depth out on the wings, and Marmoush could have been perfect for Arsenal or Tottenham as a late signing in the window, with the attacker now primed for another breakout year in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg.
