Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted to BBC Sport that his side should have been more ruthless on Saturday.
Demanding perfection
Liverpool ran out 4-0 winners over Southampton, in a game where the cruised to the three points.
The Reds scored early through Diogo Jota and never really looked back after that moment.
However, Klopp still wasn’t entirely satisfied with his side’s attacking display.
Indeed, he felt that the margin of victory could have been even greater had his attacking players made better decisions in the final third.
“We could have scored more goals if we would have been calmer in the last third,” he said.
“It sounds really strange with the amount of goals we scored, but it’s really something we have to think about.
“The decision making could be better, because you don’t always score with the first chance, so in this moment you have to be in it.
“The game in the end felt very comfortable but during the game I didn’t feel that comfort.”

Three-way title fight
While Liverpool’s lack of ruthlessness didn’t cost them on Saturday, it could have against a more challenging opponent.
The Reds were just a class above Southampton on the day, but Jurgen Klopp’s side can ill afford any slip ups this season.
There appears to be three genuine title contenders this year, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea all within two points of each other currently.
Any dropped points will be hugely costly, and Klopp’s comments show the importance of keeping a perfectionist mentality right now.
Klopp’s side are next in action against Everton on Wednesday night, when Liverpool will be hoping their attack is in even more devastating form against their local rivals.
