Luis Enrique has claimed that ‘no-one’ has achieved what reported Liverpool target, Pedri, has produced at Euro 2020 this summer, as quoted by ESPN.
The 18-year-old was a standout performer for Spain during this tournament, despite his country getting knocked out via penalties at the semi-finals stages.
Pedri’s natural ability on the ball, use of the ball, positive intent and that bit of bite in his game has stood out.
Therefore, it’s no surprise that Liverpool have made moves and shown interest in his quick-thinking talents.
This is what Enrique had to say about the teenager, who should surely be on course to win Young Player of the Tournament.
“But what Pedri has done in this tournament, at 18, no one has done, not even Andres Iniesta did that, it’s incredible, unique,” said Enrique.
Normally, it would be difficult for a club to lure a talented star away from Barcelona, but this isn’t the norm for the Spanish giants.
They are in the pickle of all pickles from a financial perspective and this is perhaps an apt time for clubs to pounce on their players.
Even though Barca are in such a situation, it would still take a lot to lure the £70 million-rated player out of the Nou Camp.
