Darren Bent told Euro GameDay Live on talkSPORT that Tottenham should look at Graham Potter because he is someone he would also ‘take’ at Arsenal.

The former striker, who played for Spurs but is a boyhood Arsenal fan, shared that Tottenham cannot ‘turn their noses up’ about appointing Potter as their next boss.

At this stage, absolutely anyone can take the Tottenham job because everyone is seemingly getting linked, yet no one is being appointed.

But another name Bent thinks Tottenham need to take seriously is that of Potter, especially given the work he has done at Brighton.

“You know how much of a big fan I am of Potter,” said Bent. “I have said before, I would take him at Arsenal.

“I think the football that he plays, with the players at Brighton. I think he’s exceptional.

“People will say ‘Oh, they haven’t scored many goals’. But he’s put that team in situations where they should have got so many more points because they create that many opportunities. If people don’t finish it off then I don’t think you can blame Potter.

“But I don’t think Tottenham can turn their noses up about him.”

Mikel Arteta could have been given the chop by Arsenal on numerous occasions last season, more so when they were knocked out of the Europa League.

Plus, if the Gunners start off the new campaign in a poor fashion then another North London club might be looking for a new manager.

But from someone like Antonio Conte looking like he was going to take the job to Gennaro Gattuso’s name being wiped out within 48 hours.

It’s anyone’s guess as to whose name will crop up next on Tottenham’s door step, before talks break down once more.
