According to Goal, Antonio Conte may take a break from football after a move to Tottenham Hotspur collapsed.
Spurs had targeted Conte as their first-choice to replace Jose Mourinho last week, having seen the Italian leave his post with Inter Milan.
A move looked likely, but collapsed in the end as Conte demanded big money, doubted the quality of Tottenham’s squad and wouldn’t focus on young players.
Conte to take a break after Tottenham talks
Goal suggest that Conte’s plan now is to take a sabbatical and ‘recharge the batteries’ barring a ‘sensational twist’.
This wouldn’t be the first time Conte took a break. After leaving Chelsea in 2018, Conte took a year out before heading to Inter in 2019.
Pep Guardiola did similar after leaving Barcelona in 2012, waiting a year before taking over at Bayern Munich – and to seems that Conte wants to relax after winning the title with Inter.

Is there still a chance for Tottenham?
Conte has been loosely linked with other clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, but with Mauricio Pochettino staying put, that move won’t be happening.
There are no other truly big jobs available right now, and Conte seemingly prefers to rest rather than force himself into a job that isn’t right.
We would suggest that there is little hope for Spurs if they want to rekindle their interest, but if Conte doesn’t take another job, there could be a glimmer of hope.
