Dominic Solanke is already injured and he hasn’t even got warm in his seat at Tottenham.
You know your luck is out when Solanke played every Premier League game for Bournemouth last season, but after one game at his new club, he is already in the treatment room.
Tottenham drew 1-1 with Leicester in their opening match of the new Premier League season, where Solanke made his Spurs debut and Ian Wright, after the summer transfer window slammed shut, talked about what could come with the player.
The problem is that Solanke was purchased for a club-record transfer fee, so that has put extra pressure on his shoulders.
Rather than praising Spurs for buying a bonafide strike to further enhance their forward line and a player who netted 19 Premier League goals last season.
Quite a lot of talk is about his transfer fee, and unfortunately for the players, that is now the norm in this inflated and crazy transfer market.
Wright touched upon how Solanke should have scored at least two goals against the Foxes, as he then proceeded to miss the thumping of Everton and he is expected to be out of the trip to Newcastle also.
That means a return after the international break where Solanke could lose a spark to his game and he might need time to get going again.
Wright is hoping that ‘Solanke doesn’t rush his chances’ because he worries that if he doesn’t score for a few more matches for Tottenham, then it could ‘get into his head’, as he told Premier League.

“I think he maybe should have scored two goals in that game (against Leicester),” said Wright. “You are just hoping he doesn’t go through a phase where he isn’t scoring for a few games, then it will start getting into his head.
“You are hoping he isn’t rushing the chances. He is now in a position where he is a £65 million striker. In people’s eyes, he has arrived to be at that level, so just relax now. When the chance came, which they will do, then he will do.”

Tottenham at Newcastle United
Ange Postecoglou watched his team get destroyed at Newcastle last season – and an even worse capitulation happened the season before.
To put it simply, St James’ Park hasn’t been a good hunting ground for the London club and it’s going to be a real test of their mental strength.

But perhaps they will be helped by the issues facing Eddie Howe and a summer transfer window to forget.
Newcastle pushed to sign Marc Guehi all summer long as they were desperate to improve their backline, but never mind not being able to sign the Crystal Palace man, they couldn’t get anyone in.
