Dejan Kulusevski has bigged up the speed of returning new boy Destiny Udogie and how the Tottenham Hotspur left-back would be faster over 100 meters.
Tottenham signed Destiny Udogie last summer for £15 million from Udinese (Sky Sports), but they loaned him straight back to the Serie A club and he has now returned to his parent club ahead of his debut campaign in the Premier League.
The 20-year-old has been getting rave reviews during pre-season, but now, Dejan Kulusevski, who would fancy himself in a sprint race, suggested that if there is anyone that would beat him, then it is the Italian, as he told The Diary Room.
Someone like Son Heung-min, who will be playing on the same flank as Udogie ahead of the new season, will have something to say about Kulusevski’s comments.
The South Korean star, if you asked the fans, would probably be the one fans would put forward as the fastest.
But, either way, the thoughts of the Spurs faithful being able to watch Udogie and Son run riot on the left is something they will look forward to, with Kulusevski being asked ‘which player would be fastest over 100 meters?’

“I would say Destiny Udogie,” said Kulusevski. “I think he has the speed over a longer run. I think me and him. It’s a lot of metres, so, maybe me, yes.”

Udogie’s time to shine
The left-back spot is one area of concern heading into the new campaign, so there is every chance that Udogie starts the first game of the season against Brentford.
Ryan Sessegnon is injured, again, unfortunately for the player, whilst Ben Davies played in a back three last season and there is talk that Ivan Perisic will head for the exit door.
That opens the door for Udogie to take his chance and become a first-team regular.
