Craig Burley says Zinedine Zidane is ‘never’ going to become Tottenham Hotspur manager after the expected sacking of Antonio Conte.

The former Scotland international was reacting to Zinedine Zidane’s name being on a list of potential candidates who could be Tottenham’s next manager.

Daniel Levy has to big call to make during these coming months, with the Spurs chairman putting Cristian Stellini in charge until the end of the season.

But with a number of high-profile names out-of-work, including the recently-sacked Bayern Munich coach, Julian Nagelsmann, then the north London club might have to act quickly, unless they get nabbed elsewhere.

Could the Real Madrid job become available in the summer? If so, then Levy might end up losing out on a manager target to the Spanish giants, including a certain Mauricio Pochettino.

And whilst Craig Burley dismissed Zidane’s name, he also thinks they shouldn’t go for Pochettino as well, as he told ESPN.

“I wouldn’t go back to Pochettino,” said Burley. “I just don’t think it’s good to go back.

On Zidane: “I mean, you can take Zinedine Zidane off that list. It’s never happening. It’s never happening in a million years.”

ZIDANE WILL MANAGE THE ELITE

After crazy trophy success at Real Madrid, a club like Spurs can only dream to have a manager the calibre of Zidane in their dugout.

The France legend will only manage the elite and those trophy-winning teams, as it will be interesting to see what his next move will be.

Is he waiting for the France gig? Will he ever manage in the Premier League? Or will the boyhood Marseille fan do the unthinkable and manage PSG? Only time will tell.
