Stevie Nicol has slammed how Tottenham manager target Julian Nagelsmann has been treated following his sacking from Bayern Munich.
On Thursday night, rumours started circling, before any official message, that Julian Nagelsmann was going to get the boot by the German champions.
Not only was that rumour spreading like wildfire, but it was also suggested that ex-Chelsea boss and Spurs manager target Thomas Tuchel was going to be named as his replacement.

Lo and behold, that’s exactly what happened, and now Nagelsmann is a free agent, with talk that Daniel Levy wants him at Hotspur Way – ex-Spurs boss Tim Sherwood is glad that Thomas Tuchel didn’t get the gig in north London.
Football isn’t exactly a sport that is littered with respect, so the sacking of the 35-year-old and how it all went about, is just the norm in the game.
But Liverpool legend Stevie Nicol wasn’t happy with how a manager who is ‘perfect’ for Tottenham was treated, as he told ESPN.
“I find that very difficult to believe,” said Nicol. “I can’t get my head around how something like this could happen.
“It’s happened before, right!? I don’t care how bad a manager you are. But common decency would be you make a decision, it should be pretty much across the board, ‘right nobody says anything to anybody until I have spoken to whoever it may be’.
“That just seems to be the normal correct thing to do.”

WHAT NEXT FOR NAGELSMANN?
From Real Madrid to Tottenham, the young and highly-rated coach will have many suitors, even if he is out of the door at Munich.
It will be interesting to see if he wants to be thrown straight into the deep end and go again, or if he will relax before taking to the touchline.
If it is the latter, then it’s bad news for Tottenham because, after three defensive-minded coaches, the fans are craving for a forward-thinking coach and Nagelsmann fits that bill.
