Rodrigo De Paul has told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he is aware of interest in him, amid claims that Liverpool and Leeds United want him.
De Paul is one of the better attacking players in Serie A, and has been linked with both Liverpool and Leeds.
Il Milanista reported earlier this month that Leeds and Liverpool are leading the race for the Udinese attacking midfielder, as covered by HITC Sport.
Leeds Chief Executive Angus Kinnear has said on The Phil Hay Show on The Athletic that the club do not plan to sign De Paul, but, as always, rumours simply do not go away.
The Argentina international has said that he is aware of interest from clubs, adding that he is used to people talking about him.
De Paul told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “I watch them (major leagues) all, but I just don’t think about it. I know there are teams interested, but I have Sunday in mind.”
The Udinese star added: “What I had to say, I said to the club, to my agent, but I can’t say more. By now, I’m used to the fact that people talk about me. Here, however, people love me and I am now the captain of this team.”
De Paul has been at Udinese since 2016 and has been brilliant for them.
Udinese are an established club in Serie A, but they are unlikely to challenge for top honours anytime soon.
You should not be surprised if De Paul does leave this summer.
Both Liverpool and Leeds could do with a player like the Argentina international in their respective teams.
Pablo Hernandez may not have played much this season, but the Spanish attacking midfielder still needs replacing when he leaves this summer.
Liverpool do need a more creative spark in midfield, and De Paul could provide them with that.
