The USMNT’s World Cup dream has come to an end at the hands of Belgium.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team have helped to showcase soccer to the United States, but the last 16 game in Seattle on Monday proved to be a step too far.

There were a lot of concerns heading into this summer’s tournament, with ticket prices being one of the big worries for global fans.

The 2026 World Cup was not accessible to all, given some matches were demanding in excess of $1000 to attend.

However, the USMNT elimination from the World Cup on Monday has seen ticket prices plummet for what will now be a quarter-final tie between Spain and Belgium.

World Cup quarter-final tickets plummet after USMNT defeat

Pochettino was just 90 minutes away from booking the USMNT a place in the final eight of the competition against Spain.

The quarter-final will take place in Inglewood at SoFi Stadium, but Team USA will not be participating.

Ticketdata had tickets for the quarter-final tie valued around $3337 before the USMNT faced Belgium on Monday in Seattle.

However, after the defeat at Lumen Field, Belgium’s involvement in the tie over the USMNT has seen ticket prices fall by 57% in value.

The current average price to secure a ticket for the game in Inglewood is now around $1435.

Ticket prices for the game on Friday soared to almost $4400 after the USMNT secured their spot in the knockout stages of the World Cup.

European soccer fans have mocked the USA following Belgium’s victory to eliminate Pochettino’s team from the competition.

Lessons will be learned, but some supporters may now be out of pocket if they had bought tickets for Friday’s game in Inglewood thinking they’d be watching the USMNT.
