The USMNT were dumped out of the World Cup on Monday by Belgium, with European soccer fans enjoying every second of it.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team met their match in Seattle as Belgium put four past Matt Freese to comfortably book their spot in the quarter-finals.
Although there have been plenty of positives to take from this summer’s World Cup, the recent Folarin Balogun drama involving President Donald Trump has left a sour taste for fans across the world.

What will Donald Trump have to say to get them out of this one? 👀
Balogun started the game for the USMNT on Monday against Belgium, but was unable to inspire Team USA to victory.
As a result, European soccer fans were left mocking the USMNT despite making it to the last 16.
What European soccer fans said about Team USA’s defeat to Belgium
After scoring one of their goals, Belgium’s players mocked Trump’s dance with their celebrations.
The mockery did not end there, though, with European soccer fans taking to social media platform X to share their thoughts on the result.
“A team that united the rest of the world,” said one fan, who shared an image of the world map in Belgian colours apart from the USA.
“US beat Paraguay, Bosnia, Australia and lost to Turkey and people thought they were good,” said another.
There was a clear feeling that the USMNT failed the test against their first real top-quality opponent, one fan said: “Uh, no. That was humiliating on a world stage.”

Amid the controversy surrounding Balogun’s suspension being lifted, another European said: “Inspired a nation to what? Cheat?!!”
“Thank you Belgium! Football wins. It stays football, not soccer,” said one soccer fan.
“Finishing round of 16 is inspiring a nation is it? Standards are low hahahaha,” added an Englishman.
Although there may still be plenty of room for improvement, it is impossible to deny that progress is being made by the USMNT.
