Leeds United supporters on Twitter believe that Marcelo Bielsa has ‘slipped up’ when talking about a transfer target.
Brenden Aaronson has been heavily linked with a transfer to Elland Road this past week.
On Wednesday, it was reported that the Red Bull Salzburg player was in favour of a move to Leeds, because of Bielsa’s presence in West Yorkshire.
And earlier this morning, The Yorkshire Evening Post claimed that Aaronson was the Premier League outfit’s number one target between now and the end of the winter window.
Athletic journalist Phil Hay asked the Leeds boss about potentially signing the 21-year-old USA international during a press conference today.
Responding, the Argentine manager said: “I prefer to speak about a player when it’s not a hypothetical possibility but is our player.”
You could argue that if there was nothing in the speculation, zero substance, then Bielsa would’ve emphatically denied the suggestions that Leeds are in for him.
But because the 66-year-old intimated that he wouldn’t speak about Aaronson until he’s a done deal implies that inroads are being made to bring him to Elland Road.

Leeds definitely need reinforcements.
Bielsa’s troops have been flirting with the relegation zone for almost the entire campaign, floating around 16th and 17th.
United are 15th in the Premier League standings now and eight points clear of the bottom three.
Relegation is no longer a major concern – particularly because Leeds have a game in hand over 18th-placed Norwich – but still, it’s time to prepare for next season.
Having finished ninth last term, to be where they are will have disappointed the Elland Road faithful.
But there’s still half of the Premier League season left and, with the right additions, Bielsa and co could continue to climb.
