United States soccer fans may need a long time to recover from their heartbreaking World Cup defeat to Belgium.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team captured the imagination of the American public with three victories at the tournament.
The USMNT were then expected to reach the quarter-finals by defeating Belgium, but they were extremely disappointing.
They were completely outclassed from the first whistle to the last, leaving fans with dashed hopes of reaching the latter stages.
However, NFL analyst Brett Kollman has named the exciting prospect who can lead the USMNT to future success.

Brett Kollmann believes Cavan Sullivan can become the USMNT’s next superstar
Christian Pulisic has long been the face of the USMNT, but he has received significant criticism for his disappointing World Cup performance.
At 27 years old and with a concerning injury record, the USA may need to replace Pulisic with a new superstar for the 2030 World Cup.
Well, NFL expert Brett Kollman is already pinning his hopes on 16-year-old Philadelphia Union midfielder Cavan Sullivan.
Sullivan has already played 29 MLS games for Philadelphia Union, scoring once and providing an assist.
The United States under-18 international has already agreed to join Manchester City when he turns 18.
Therefore, it is no surprise that US soccer fans like Kollman are expecting him to play for the senior national team in the next few years.
“On the bright side, in four years he (Sullivan) is coming to save us,” Kollman posted on social media after the Belgium defeat.
Meanwhile, an X user replied that Borussia Dortmund’s Mathis Albert is another young American player to watch.
Even though it feels like they did not make any progress at the 2026 World Cup, the future is certainly bright for the USMNT.
