Don Hutchison told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport that Florian Neuhaus and Yves Bissouma aren’t at the level of Liverpool trio Fabinho, Thiago and Jordan Henderson.
Both players have been linked with Liverpool this summer, with Jurgen Klopp a ‘massive fan’ of the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder.
Whilst Brighton’s midfield powerhouse Bissouma has been looked at by several Premier League clubs, including those from Merseyside.
Whilst none of those players will come in this summer, there has been a lot of talk about the breakdown in Henderson’s contract, so something might just happen down the line.
And Hutchison made it clear that he would in ‘double-quick’ time pen Henderson down to a new deal.
“It won’t have an effect on the dressing room because I think Jurgen Klopp and Jordan Henderson wouldn’t allow it (on Henderson’s situation),” said Hutchison.
“But he’s the one that needs tying down. It just depends on what Jurgen Klopp sees. He has been linked with Florian Neuhaus, with Yves Bissouma and there have been one or two players that have been linked with Liverpool.
“But you aren’t going to get, again unless you play fantasy football, the standard of player that Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Thiago could potentially bring.
“If I am Klopp, and I don’t know the money situation at Liverpool, they haven’t got hundreds of millions to sign players then I would tie down Jordan Henderson double-quick.”

Liverpool fans actually haven’t seen much of Thiago, Fabinho and Henderson play together given their depth of injuries last season.
But with those injured stars returning back to action this summer, many of those supporters will be looking forward to Klopp picking them together next season.
Thiago, in particular, because he was one of the players who struggled without the wall of Virgil van Dijk behind him and consistent performers by his side.
But the former Bayern man, who joined last summer, could be one of the Liverpool players to look out for next season because he might now thrive in this much-stronger side.
