Sport1 journalist Florian Plettenberg has told FanNation that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a massive fan of Florian Neuhaus.
The well-known and well-respected journalist, who has almost 18,000 followers on Twitter, has said that Liverpool boss Klopp likes the 24-year-old Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder.
Plettenberg has claimed that there have been talks between Klopp and the midfielder’s management.
However, the journalist has added that it is likely that the Germany international will stay at Monchengladbach this season.
Plettenberg told FanNation: “[The transfer is] not likely this window. There were calls between [Jurgen] Klopp and [Florian] Neuhaus’ management. Klopp is a massive fan.
“Neuhaus is also aware of Liverpool’s interest. It’s likely that he will stay in Gladbach this summer and next summer there could be talks with Liverpool as well as FC Bayern again.
“Klopp wants him but right now there are too many players for the central midfield in the squad of Liverpool.”

Should Liverpool make a bid?
Neuhaus is a very good midfielder, and if Klopp likes him so much, then Liverpool should make a bid.
Or at least lay the foundations for a transfer next summer, perhaps do a deal like they did with Naby Keita and RB Leipzig.
Bayern are one of the biggest clubs in the world and would be very attractive to Neuhaus.

Yes, Liverpool do have some very good midfield players, but there is always room for more.
A year is a long time in football.
Neuhaus may not available next summer.
The Germany international midfielder made 30 starts and three substitute appearances in the Bundesliga last season.
Neuhaus scored six goals and gave five assists in those games.
