Speaking on The Redmen TV YouTube channel, Neil Jones has named Yves Bissouma as the player he believes is most likely to sign for Liverpool this summer.

The Reds have been linked with so many players this summer, from Kylian Mbappe to Donyell Malen, but Jones believes that Bissouma is the most realistic link so far.

What’s been said?

Jones was asked to name one player who he believes is most likely to sign for Liverpool this summer.

“One player, well I was asked this before, and I said Bissouma is one that I could see happening. I know there has been a bit of denial from some sources around Liverpool, but I think there’s interest there and he certainly fits the bill,” Jones said.

The host later asked if Jones was to stake a fiver on any player joining the Reds, who would it be? And he again said Bissouma.

“A fiver? Bissouma, yeah I think Bissouma yeah, only a fiver like I’m not going any higher yeah. But yeah it probably would be Bissouma, I can’t see how they don’t sign a midfielder personally, I don’t see how you can lose Wijnaldum and say that the squad can cover that because the squad has been there.”

Fits the bill

Jones says that the 24-year-old fits the bill, and it’s hard to disagree with that judgement.

The Brighton midfielder is young, proven at this level and very energetic, which is something that Jurgen Klopp needs from his midfielders.

The Reds certainly need a new centre-mid after the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum to PSG, and Bissouma looks as though he’s the man who could fill that void.

Jones knows his stuff when he speaks about Liverpool, so this could be one to keep an eye on.
