Having been one of Tottenham Hotspur‘s most important players once upon a time, Dele Alli’s decline has certainly captured peoples’ attention.

Still only 26, the former Spurs attacker appears to be deteriorating before everyone’s eyes in a football sense.

Everton loaned him to Besiktas during the summer transfer window in what wasn’t quite rock bottom for the star who, at Tottenham, emerged as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents.

Things haven’t worked out well in Turkey, with his manager slamming him a little earlier in November for his performances.

And now there’s been another development regarding the former England international.

According to Takvim, the Turkish outfit have identified a replacement for Alli.

The outlet claims that 30-year-old Dia Saba of Sivasspor has been earmarked as the player to replace the former Tottenham dynamo in January.

The fact that Besiktas believe that quite an obscure player who few people would’ve even heard of before would be an upgrade on Alli is another heartbreaking development in this latest chapter of Alli’s football story.

Alli looks like he could return to England this winter but the worrying question is that if he cannot make the grade in Turkey, what happens next for him?
