It has been a fairly quiet transfer window for Arsenal up until now, but that could change very quickly.

The Gunners have only completed one signing so far with David Raya making his stay permanent after spending last season on loan in North London.

Arsenal are closing in on a second signing with Riccardo Calafiori set to undergo a medical before finalising a £34million move from Bologna.

But Calafiori’s arrival is set to have a domino effect with Jakub Kiwior told he is free to leave – Inter Milan are leading the race for the Polish defender.

With Arsenal also receiving interest in Eddie Nketiah from French side Marseille, transfer activity could ramp up for the Gunners in the coming weeks.

A move for Aaron Ramsdale could also be on the cards with Raya’s permanent move to The Emirates pushing him down the pecking order.

Arsenal star told to move this summer

Eyebrows were raised when Arsenal paid £24million for Ramsdale after his relegation with Sheffield United, but he ended up being a fan favourite with the Gunners.

However, Mikel Arteta wanted extra depth in his goalkeeping department and Raya has now taken Ramsdale’s spot as No.1 after a superb showing last season.

When asked if Ramsdale should look for a new club this summer, his former Bournemouth teammate Asmir Begovic told talkSPORT “Yeah, with how good Aaron is, he is too good not to play.

“I know the luxury of Arsenal and these top clubs who try to have two elite world-class goalkeepers on the books, but it gets really difficult.

“So it’s got to be pulling on Aaron’s strings, he wants to play – he’s too good not to play. It’s not easy of course with other factors such as valuations to be met but if you’re him he’s too good not to play.

Begovic adds “He probably should go, he needs to go for his career and his England chances, but if Arsenal don’t let him go he’s still under contract and paying his wages so it’s a really tricky situation.”

HITC previously revealed that Arsenal put a £40million price tag on Ramsdale and were open to letting him leave.

Sources have now confirmed to HITC that the longer the window goes on, the more likely it is Arsenal will agree to a loan move.

Newcastle United opened talks with Ramsdale earlier this summer, but newly-promoted Southampton are now showing interest in a deal.
