- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands Arsenal have told a key defender that he will be allowed to leave the club this summer.
Arsenal have been left frustrated in the transfer market this summer with the North London club missing out on two key targets.
A move for a new striker in Benjamin Sesko failed, as did a move for Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who the Gunners believe prefers a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona over the Premier League.
However, Arsenal have finally struck an agreement this summer to sign Bologna’s centre-back Riccardo Calafiori and this deal will allow the Gunners to sell one key defender this summer.

Arsenal tell Jakub Kiwior he is free to leave the club this summer
HITC understands that Arsenal have told Polish defender Jakub Kiwior that they will now allow him to leave the club this summer.
With Arsenal striking an agreement for the signing of Bologna defender Calafiori, the Gunners will now allow the Polish defender Kiwior to leave the club.
HITC revealed at the weekend that a deal was agreed in principle – the only delay in the Calafiori pursuit has been Bologna sorting out the sell on details with his former club Basel.
With this deal on the verge of being completed, Kiwior will be allowed to depart the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Kiwior attracting interest from Serie A, one club leading the race
Sources have told HITC that Kiwior is attracting interest from clubs in Serie A, which is understood to be the Polish defender’s preference this summer.
HITC understands that Italian giants Inter Milan are leading the race for the signing of the Polish defender this summer.
Despite Arsenal fan Darren Bent wanting Kiwior to stay and Oleksandr Zinchenko to leave, it appears the Polish defender is closing in on a move to Italy.
Last season for Arsenal, Kiwior featured in 20 Premier League games for the Gunners and was used across the back-four, but predominantly at left-back.
One man who is certainly a fan of Kiwior is Robert Lewandowski, who labelled the Polish defender as ‘extraordinary’ when speaking to The Metro, during when he featured for Poland before joining Arsenal.
