HITC can confirm that Riccardo Calafiori is due to undergo a medical at Arsenal after the final details of his move were agreed with Bologna.

All details of the 22-year-old’s move to North London have now been ironed out and finalised, paving the way for him to complete the move.

HITC revealed at the weekend that Arsenal agreed a deal in principle for Riccardo Calafiori and are set to pay a final fee of around £34million for the Italian defender.

The final detail that slowed down Riccardo Calafiori‘s move was sorting out the sell-on details with his former club Basel.

Calafiori now has permission to attend his medical ahead of linking up with Arsenal on their pre-season tour of the United States.

Mikel Arteta played a vital role in the move, with Arsenal’s hierarchy accelerating talks in recent weeks after the Gunners boss confirmed that he saw Calafiori as a pivotal figure who could strengthen his side at left-back.

HITC understands that Arsenal have told Polish defender Jakub Kiwior that they will now allow him to leave this summer.

Talks are ongoing with a number of clubs back in Italy as the 24-year-old has made it clear that is his preferred destination.

As it stands, Serie A giants Inter Milan are heading the chase for Kiwior’s signature.
