Newcastle fans were delighted to see their players looking so happy in training under Eddie Howe yesterday.
What’s been happening?
Howe’s first game in charge of Newcastle is now on the horizon and the players were put through their paces at the training ground yesterday.
It certainly looked like it was smiles all round, as Howe set up a series of practice drills.

Newcastle fans often criticised Steve Bruce for not working his players hard enough in training, and there were also complaints about the number of days off they were getting.
But Howe is known to be a very demanding manager in training.
Howe’s coaching skills are exemplary, with numerous players developing under his stewardship at Bournemouth.
Newcastle’s players certainly seem to be enjoying life under their new manager.
And Magpies fans were delighted to see so many smiles on the training ground, as they haven’t seen the team spirit looking so strong for some time.
The new era starts
Newcastle’s players may be enjoying training under Howe, but ultimately he will be judged on results.
And that’s where Howe’s task really looks daunting.
He takes over a Newcastle side who are six points adrift of safety.
To make matter worse, the Magpies have some hugely testing fixtures coming up in December.
However, Howe’s first game in charge does look to be a winnable one.
Newcastle are set to host a Brentford side who have lost their last four league games in a row on Saturday.
