Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott has been keen to sing the praises of one academy graduate who could make a big impact.
Arne Slot’s Liverpool are in for a big season with the Dutchman having big shoes to fill after Jurgen Klopp ended his nine-year association with the Reds.
Liverpool did finish in the UEFA Champions League places under the German but the club are yet to have made a significant first-team signing this summer.
Liverpool are keen on Lutsharel Geertruida and Crysencio Summerville with HITC reporting the Reds have spoken to the pair’s agent.
With a lack of first-team signings for the Reds, Liverpool may well have to turn to their academy side.

Harvey Elliott keen to praise Trey Nyoni
With so many senior professionals still away following the Euros and the Copa America, Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has been one of the more experienced players during the club’s pre-season tour of America.
There has been a plethora of academy players who have been given chances by Slot but Elliott has been impressed by 17-year-old Trey Nyoni, who has shone during pre-season.
Speaking to The Athletic, Elliott said of Nyoni: “Trey has got everything in him, he showed it the other night. He is fearless at such a young age. He just needs to keep going and trust the process.
“I’ve spoken to him and the seniors who have been around it a lot longer than I have, they have spoken to him as well.
“I’ve captained England Under-21s a few times. This pre-season we have a younger group, so I want to be that voice. I want the boys to know they can come to me if they have anything they want to speak about.”
Trey Nyoni has made quite the impact already
17-year-old midfielder Nyoni started against Real Betis in a 1-0 pre-season friendly victory for the Reds which featured a host of academy players.
The former Leicester City wonderkid certainly looked impressive against the Spanish side with Dominik Szobszlai netting the decisive goal.
He has exceptional technical ability, close control and has a cool head on his shoulders and he could be the breakout star for the Reds next season.
