Harry Kane says he’s ‘looking forward’ to the north London derby against Arsenal after scoring once again for Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday in the third-round of the FA Cup, as posted on the club’s Instagram.
The 29-year-old scored goal number 265 for Spurs, as they beat League One Portsmouth 1-0 in the FA Cup, with the England captain now one behind the legendary Jimmy Greaves in the club’s all-time record goalscoring charts.
The next stop for Antonio Conte’s side is a home clash against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and that might just be the game that Kane, not only levels with Greaves, but breaks the record.

Given that Kane is the top-scorer in NLDs, then you wouldn’t want to bet against such a situation.
Whilst Arsenal are sitting top of the Premier League table, they were pegged back by Newcastle United during their most recent league outing, which means that the gap between themselves and Manchester City is now five points.
Nonetheless, Kane spoke about the ‘tough’ battle against Pompey in the FA Cup, as well as looking forward to the Arsenal game.
“Tough battle today, it’s good to get the 1-0 win and through to the next round,” said Kane. “Nice to get the gaol and one step closer to the record, so overall, a really good day. Let’s see who we get in the next round.
“As always thanks for your support and look forward to the North London derby next week.”

LEGENDARY NUMBERS BY KANE
On paper, Kane is going to become Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer and he will do the same in England colours, not forgetting that Alan Shearer record as well.
But will those legendary numbers come with a trophy?
Tottenham missed that boat with Jose Mourinho and sacked the now-Roma coach one week before the League Cup final.
Well, they have another chance with Antonio Conte, who despite displaying mixed emotions since the start of the season, is Kane and Tottenham’s best chance of winning silverware.
