Draymond Green has opened up on LeBron James’ decision to reject a move to the Golden State Warriors in free agency.
The Warriors proved to be James’ second-choice destination as he ultimately decided to join the Philadelphia 76ers.
Green is friends with LeBron and shares the same agent (Rich Paul), so he should have some insight into the situation.
The power forward has now identified the key reason James did not want to join him and Stephen Curry in Golden State.

Draymond Green thinks LeBron James’ old rivalry with the Golden State Warriors put him off joining them this summer.
James had several battles with the Warriors during his second stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, including the famous 2016 Finals.
Many believe it would have been wrong for the four-time champion to join his rivals after trying to beat them for so long.
Even though Green would have welcomed him to Golden State, he understands why LeBron moving there was never meant to be.
“I ultimately don’t think Bron was ever able to get over the history, and I understand it, I get it,” he said on his podcast.
“He was going to get crushed if he came to the Warriors, ‘Ah man, you went to team up with Steph. You had to go to them.’
“Ultimately, I think that weighed in on the decision a lot; that played a big role in the Warriors not landing LeBron.”
Having missed out on LeBron, the Warriors are now entering yet another season without realistic championship expectations.
