LeBron James will be playing for the Philadelphia 76ers in the forthcoming season, but his move hasn’t gone down well with everyone.
WWE superstar The Miz suggested last week that fans could turn on James if he does not deliver instant success and get them into the NBA Finals.
Now, Dave Portnoy has hit out at LeBron after news broke that he would not actually be living in the city of Philadelphia.

Dave Portnoy suggests LeBron James ‘disgusted by the people who live in’ Philadelphia
Instead, it is expected that James will live in New York and commute to Philadelphia for games and training.
This has not gone down well with Portnoy, who has suggested that LeBron is ‘disgusted’ by the people of Philly.
In a video shared on his X/Twitter account, he said: “This guy hates you so much, Philadelphia, that he comes in and says, ‘ Hey, Shapiro, Governor Shapiro, name a day after me’, the LeBron James day.
“By the way, he loves your city so much, Philadelphia, that he won’t even live in the city. He’s living in Manhattan, and you guys are praising this guy, and raising this guy.
“This is the biggest spit in the face to any city I’ve ever seen. Hey, here I come, Philadelphia, give me a state day, recognise me, bow down to me, shine my shoes, kiss my feet. And by the way, your city’s so disgusting, I’m going to go live in Manhattan.
“By the way, I like Philadelphia more than Manhattan. I always said Philadelphia and Boston’s similar. This guy’s so disgusted by the people who live in the city, he doesn’t even want to spend the night there.”
For context, it takes around 1 hour 44 minutes to get from New York to Philadelphia in a car.
If James were to use a helicopter instead, it would take around 40-45 minutes.
