Wolves manager Gary O’Neil has made a surprise admission over the future of Pedro Neto amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.

HITC had previously reported that Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United were interested in Pedro Neto, with both sides looking to strengthen their depth in the forward departments.

Max Kilman departed Wolves and joined West Ham United and it would be a significant blow to lose Neto, who has consistently been a dangerous winger for the club and a sale may well be a mistake.

Sources have told HITC that Pedro Neto’s representatives are in talks with multiple clubs about a move but it is our understanding Wolves are under no pressure to sell Neto.

Gary O’Neil makes Pedro Neto admission

Sources have told HITC that Wolves would demand around £60 million for the Portuguese winger and are under no financial pressure to sell.

The £40 million fee Wolves received for Kilman is surely set to help the club with their financial problems meaning that Neto will not leave the club on the cheap.

However, despite Wolves’ stance that they are under no pressure to sell, manager Gary O’Neil has made a rather surprise statement about the Portuguese winger.

“If a huge offer comes from a big club, no one will stand in Pedro’s way,” O’Neil told the Express & Star about a potential deal.

This ‘huge offer’ that O’Neil alludes to could well be the £60 million figure that HITC has reported.

Tottenham’s need for Neto the greater

HITC had previously reported that Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez was earmarked as a target for Tottenham Hotspur.

However, little movement has been made on this move and Ange Postecoglou has trialed Dejan Kulusevksi as a striker.

Therefore, a move for a new striker this summer may well be of lesser priority but if the Swedish winger is moved to the striker position, a right-winger will be needed.

This is where Neto would come in, the winger scored just two goals but provided nine assists for the club in the Premier League and it is that creativity that could be key for Tottenham.

Pep Guardiola once labelled Neto as ‘incredible’ when speaking to talkSPORT and the signing of the Portuguese star could go down as one of the signings of the season.
