Gary Neville has told a fan that he will wear an Arsenal shirt at the Emirates Stadium if they win the Premier League this season.

The Sky pundit has famously backed Manchester City do retain their league title, admitting until very recently that he still does not think Mikel Arteta’s men will do the business. In fact, the Manchester United legend has even predicted Erik ten Hag’s side to finish above the Gunners this term.

During an interaction with a fan on Twitter, Gary Neville said that he will wear an Arsenal shirt if they win the Premier League.

Gary Neville lays out promise if Arsenal win the Premier League

The decorated right-back has stolen the headlines for many of his hot takes about the London-based side, which include doubting Oleksandr Zinchenko’s leadership abilities and arguing with a supporter online about his side’s title hopes.

But when an Arsenal fan asked Gary Neville to go bald if they win the Premier League, he responded by saying, “I will wear an Arsenal shirt saying champions for you my friend! But if you lose it you all grovel on here and say, ‘Sorry Gary.’

All in good sport

While Arsenal fans may disagree with Gary Neville when it comes to his opinions about their chances of winning the Premier League, fair play to him for embracing the back-and-forth online, especially as he has promises to don their shirt.

While Gunners supporters seemingly believe that the ex-United defender continues to underestimate them, it seems as if he simply backs City to get over the line due to their brilliance over more than half a decade and Pep Guardiola being a specialist in winning league titles.

However, it’s safe to say that judging by online sentiment amongst the club’s fanbase alone, they would love to see a former title rival himself hold his hands up and admit that he got it wrong.
