Gary Neville has fired back at an Arsenal fan who criticised him for failing to change his mind about the club being nailed-on favourites to win the Premier League.
While the Sky pundit did admit that he is starting to be less and less convinced about Manchester City’s chances of retaining the league crown, he did come around to the ideal of Mikel Arteta’s side potentially becoming champions of England. But it still seemed like he was backing Pep Guardiola’s side to do the business, albeit being less convinced now more than ever, via The Overlap Fan Debate.
However, when an Arsenal fan called Gary Neville out about not just putting his hands and admitting that perhaps the Gunners are best-placed to now win the league. And it’s safe to say the Manchester United legend was not best pleased with being put on blast.
Gary Neville bites back at Arsenal fan about Premier League chances
After a tweet quoted Jamie Carragher and how accepted that he Lisandro Martinez had proven his doubts about his height being a potential weakness, an Arsenal fan praised Jamie Carragher and slated Gary Neville about not changing his mind about Arsenal being set to win the title.

But Neville was not one to sit down and just take the criticism, responding, “You [Arsenal] haven’t won the league yet my friend. You have 18 games left. You [have] any idea how hard it is to win a league with that many games left? I’ll happily change my mind when I think you will win it!”
Why does this even matter to the Arsenal fan?
While it is slightly confusing how Gary Neville is not more bullish about Arsenal winning the league, the question is why a change in his stance matters to the fan as much as it clearly does?
The two-time Champions League winner still backs one of the greatest sides and managers in the division’s history, which is logical and the best way for the Gunners to silence him is by getting over the line. And in all fairness, he has praised certain big guns from the side recently, such as Thomas Partey, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Eddie Nketiah and even Mikel Arteta.
