What an afternoon it was for Arsenal and, more specifically, Ethan Nwaneri.
The Gunners hammered Brentford 3-0 earlier today and Nwaneri made his Premier League debut for the Gunners.
This is a 15-year-old and someone who’s been that age for 181 days, and by coming on against the Bees he has become the youngest player in the history of this competition.
Mikel Arteta gave the teenager a few-minute cameo and here’s how Gary Lineker reacted on Twitter:

Nwaneri has clearly been on Arteta’s radar for a while.
In August, it was reported that the 15-year-old would be making his Arsenal Under-21 debut.
Little did he know that only a few weeks later he’d be making a senior, competitive appearance in the Spaniard’s first team.
This is the stuff dreams are made of for Nwaneri but it’s vital that he stays grounded because, despite the hype, this in essence was merely just an appearance, albeit a significant one.
He has many miles and years to go before he’s an established member of Arsenal’s first team and although that conversation can wait for another day, he’ll obviously be over the moon at his progress thus far.
On another note, this victory helped the North Londoners move top of the Premier League table.
With Spurs and Manchester City both winning on Saturday, Arteta’s side knew a win would leapfrog them both today and goals from William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira did just that.
