Leeds United will face Cardiff City in the Championship this weekend.

Leeds United head coach Garry Monk has told the club’s official website that Elland Road has been a special place this season.

The West Yorkshire outfit are going strong in the Championship at the moment and are in the running for the playoffs.

The Whites are currently fifth in the standings with 54 points from 30 matches and are likely to end the season in the top six.

Leeds have won 10 Championship matches at Elland Road so far this season, drawing two and losing three.

Head coach Monk, who was appointed in the role in the summer of 2016, has praised the atmosphere created by the Elland Road faithful at the home games.

The former Swansea City boss made the comments ahead of the league fixture against Cardiff City at home on Saturday afternoon.

“I’m sure you will see a determined performance again on Saturday, where we try and fight for these three points,” Monk told Leeds’s official website.

“It is always crucial to have your home form as strong as possible, whilst picking up points on the road.

Sky Sports pundit suggests a weakness in Tottenham Hotspur squad

“Elland Road has been a really special place this season, the atmospheres we have been receiving have been excellent and fantastic for the team to play in.”

Leeds will head into the match against Cardiff as favourites and should be able to pick up all three points from the encounter.

The Bluebirds will not make it easy for the Whites at Elland Road, but with a strong crowd behind them, it is hard to see Monk’s team drop all three points.
