Gabriel Jesus has posted on his Instagram story ‘what a team’ after Arsenal beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the north London derby on Sunday.

Whilst Santi Cazorla added on his own Instagram story ‘London is red’ and ‘what a team and keep going boys’ as Mikel Arteta’s side opened up an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal went into this match knowing that Manchester City were beaten by Manchester United on Saturday and, as a result, they had a massive, massive chance to open up a big lead at the top once again.

Well, whilst Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United felt that they sent out a statement yesterday, those in London are sending out a much bigger one of their own.

Yes, they have Manchester City to play twice, but what’s crazy is that they can afford to lose those two matches and still win the league.

Now, of course, Arsenal don’t want that to happen and they know if they beat Pep Guardiola’s side next month, then it’s probably game over in terms of the title race.

IT’S GETTING CLOSER

At the start of the season, Arsenal’s aim would have been to secure Champions League football after missing out to Tottenham of all teams last season.

If they had finished third this term, then nobody would have batted an eye-lid, the fans would have been happy and they would have looked forward after returning to Champions League football.

But this team is punching above its current weight and they have edged closer to title glory.

This is a manager that could have been sacked on three occasions during his time in the dugout, yet, he is months away from becoming a legend at the club.
