The biggest World Cup in history will be brought to what FIFA call a spectacular end in New Jersey later this week.

While the teams playing in the World Cup final at the New York New Jersey (MetLife Stadium) are yet to be decided, FIFA have announced their plans ahead of it.

Aside from Lionel Messi, which Argentina player scares you the most and why?

It’s felt like an age has passed since the opening ceremony in Mexico last month. The United States and Canada also staged their own ceremonies, but it was Shakira and Burna Boy in Mexico who really kicked it all off.

Now, plans to sign off in style have been confirmed and IShowSpeed is among those to feature.

Indeed, the internet celebrity is just one of the star names to feature on the list.

Nicole Scherzinger, Tom Cruise and Laura Pausini will also perform in some capacity, with the ceremony built to celebrate the journey that all 48 competing teams have been on this summer.

Jennifer Hudson will also perform what will no doubt be an emotional rendition of the American national anthem before the 23rd World Cup final in history gets underway as the world watches on.

FIFA World Cup 2026 closing ceremony start time

The ceremony at the New York New Jersey Stadium is scheduled to start at 1.30pm EDT (6.30pm BST).

Quite how long it will last is yet to have been confirmed. The match itself, however, is scheduled to kick off at 3pm EDT, which is 8pm BST.

There will also be a Super Bowl-style half-time show running for 11 minutes after the first half is played in New Jersey, with Justin Bieber among those set to perform.

Fans lucky enough to have tickets to the World Cup final can enter the stadium from 11am EDT (4pm BST) to enjoy additional pre-match entertainment.
