The size of America compared to most European nations means many fans are taking a lot of flights to watch their teams compete this summer.

In England, for example, it is very uncommon for people to fly internally, given the time it takes to get from London in the south to Newcastle at the top end of the country is generally less than six hours when driving.

Driving across America to watch soccer games would take much longer. But thankfully for travelling supporters, the security in airports across the USA seems to be running smoothly.

Speed of American airport security praised

Oliver Henry, an England fan, has been travelling around America over the summer to support his team and experience the local culture.

He has now left Texas for Nashville and, in one of his recent X/Twitter posts, praised how quick security at US airports has been.

Henry stated: “Security for internal flights in America is so fast. I have not had to wait more than 15 minutes so far. Walk in with your boarding pass, straight through security and into the terminal.

“Nothing beats the joy of not needing to go through passport control the other side though.”

Henry also shared another post this week about his plane-spotting exploits in the USA.

He stated: “A US Air Force plane just went past. Last time I was in an airport I saw a presidential plane and now this.

“Plane watching at US airports is incredible.”

Elsewhere at the World Cup, the TSA had to issue a travel warning to soccer fans over ranch dressing after the condiment became very popular with the tourists.
