Ferrari’s performance during the 2025 Formula 1 season has been far below expectations and surprised a lot of people.
This was a team 14 points shy of winning a championship last year, and now they have failed to win a single race with two of the most talented drivers on the grid during the equal-longest season in history.
Ferrari are under pressure to deliver much more when the new regulations arrive in 2026, otherwise, there may be some jobs at risk.
Both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are already fed up with being out of touch with the front of the pack and are looking for significant changes to be made soon.
Leclerc’s ‘priority’ is to improve wet races after struggling in inclement weather conditions ever since he arrived at the team.
Aston Martin have approached Leclerc and have set their sights on him for the 2027 season, which would be a statement signing.

Ferrari told they should ‘never’ have sacked ex-boss Mattia Binotto
Hamilton is struggling to adapt at Ferrari, and it isn’t just the dramatic change in scenery that has been a problem for him.
The car, the relationships, and just about anything that could’ve gone wrong for him has. His experience will be vital in righting its ship.
Leclerc thinks Hamilton fits in well, but he does need to make some changes to return to his old form at some stage in the future.
First, he needs a car capable of winning. Ex-Red Bull driver Christijan Albers has criticised the team for firing ex-boss Mattia Binotto and replacing him with Fred Vasseur.
“They should never have thrown Binotto out, because he is purely a vocal engineer,” he said on a Telesport podcast. “With all due respect, they [Ferrari] didn’t have the car for the race, but at least they were out front.
“It’s nice when you walk to the grid. Now you see all at once, he comes to Audi, and it’s also going quite well. He has just got it together. I think that’s really a hidden talent that kind of goes unnoticed.”

When is the last time Ferrari won a Formula 1 race?
It has been so long since Ferrari’s last victory that the driver who sealed it has since joined a new team and secured their first podium in four years while doing so.
Carlos Sainz secured Ferrari’s last victory at the 2024 Mexico City Grand Prix, more than 12 months ago, when they were fighting for a title.
Hamilton is about to go an entire season without scoring a podium for the first time in his career, and there are questions about their efforts for 2026.
What happens if they’re in an even worse position next year? It’s likely that sweeping changes would be made, but the team have a lot of faith in Loic Serra, tasked with leading their technical efforts.
