HITC understands that Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has changed his stance on leaving the club and is now open to a transfer.

We had previously reported that Chalobah was keen on staying at Chelsea but the Blues are understood to be keen on moving the English defender on this summer.

HITC also revealed that Chelsea have informed Chalobah that he will not be included in their Premier League squad next season – so if he wants to play, it will have to be away from Stamford Bridge.

Sources have told HITC that he is now ready for talks over a transfer move with a number of clubs positioning themselves to land him.

Crystal Palace and Fulham among sides keen on Trevoh Chalobah

Crystal Palace are long-term admirers and are ready to make their move if and when Marc Guehi’s departure to Newcastle is confirmed.

HITC had reported that Newcastle were in talks to sign Guehi after the English defender had an outstanding campaign at Euro 2024.

Another side who are interested in bringing in Chalobah, alongside Crystal Palace, is Fulham with HITC understanding that the Cottagers want to bring the Chelsea defender in as a replacement for Tosin Adarabioyo, who ironically moved to Stamford Bridge this summer.

We understand he is also on West Ham’s list of options as the Hammers are keen on adding a centre-back partner for Max Kilman and they too have made contact to confirm their interest.

Another player who is of interest to West Ham is RB Salzburg’s Oumar Solet with HITC reporting the Hammers are keen on the French defender but Chalobah is another option they are interested in.

Chalobah’s stance on European move explained

As well as interest from the Premier League, HITC understands that multiple European sides are keen on the English defender but remaining in England is understood to be his priority.

Chelsea are set to allow Chalobah to talk with the interested parties and decide where he wants to move this summer.

The Blues are understood to have informed Chalobah he is not part of their plans and if he decided to stay at the club, he would not be included in their Premier League squad.

If Chalobah is indeed set to depart this summer, it would be a sad way for his time at Chelsea to end after he broke through under Thomas Tuchel.

“Fantastic. He gets all the praise and it’s well deserved,” Tuchel once said of the Chelsea defender to the BBC but it seems his time in West London is coming to an end.

Chalobah would not be the first academy player to depart Stamford Bridge this summer with Conor Gallagher also closing in on a move away.

HITC understands that Gallagher has agreed to a move to Atletico Madrid and a deal is close to being finalised for the midfielder.
