With EA Sports’ predicted pick Spain reaching the FIFA World Cup final, fans believe history is set to repeat itself.
Since the 2010 FIFA World Cup, EA Sports have run simulations on their FIFA (now FC) game franchise to make a prediction of who would win the tournament.
In 2010, they predicted Spain to win the tournament, followed by Germany in 2014, France in 2018, and Argentina in 2022 – and they were proven right each time.

Fans are certain Spain will win the FIFA World Cup after EA FC prediction resurfaces
After Spain confirmed their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final with a 2-0 win over France, EA FC’s X account shared a post they made before the tournament where they predicted La Roja to win it all.
Given EA Sports’ history of correctly predicting the winner of the FIFA World Cup for the last four instalments, many believe this is proof that Spain are going to win the tournament.
One fan simply wrote, “EA needs to be investigated for scripting immediately.”
Another fan didn’t have a positive reaction, noting, “Y’all need to be investigated. You know a thing or two about scripting.”
“I’m putting my life savings on them winning. You better not disappoint,” Wrote a third fan who bought into EA Sports’ prediction skills.
A fourth fan called for an investigation into EA Sports, writing, “You need to be investigated for real.”
A fifth fan wondered what would happen if they were proven right, “Honestly, I wasn’t familiar with you when you predicted 4 in a row, but if this should come through?”
And lastly, one final fan wrote, “It might just come to Spain to make it 6 times in a row, it would definitely be remarkable.”
Spain aiming to add a second star to their crest with FIFA World Cup win
With a place in the final secured, Spain now await the result of tonight’s semi-final fixture between England and Argentina.
Fans could witness a star-studded clash between Barcelona’s past superstar in Lionel Messi and their current sensation, Lamine Yamal.
However, England are hoping to play spoiler and reach their first FIFA World Cup final since 1966, thus completing their 60-year quest to win the tournament.
Regardless of who wins, Spain will be confident in their chances to win, given that they just knocked off the team many considered the front-runners to win the tournament.
