Fabrizio Romano has reported that Leeds are close to completing their second summer signing in Rasmus Kristensen, with a medical set to take place on Wednesday. Leeds have already signed Brenden Aaronson from Salzburg.
Now, they look set to raid the Austrian outfit once again – this time for Denmark international Kristensen. It comes after a wonderful 2021-22 season, in which he helped Salzburg win the League and Cup double.
Kristensen himself, 24, had a hand in 18 goals from right-back – quite incredible stats, in which he scored 10 and laid on eight assists. Reports say Kristensen will sign a contract until June 2027 at Leeds.

Leeds fans have been slightly concerned at how long it is taking their club to get this one done – but Kristensen recently said that he is waiting until after the international break, barring his agent from telling him anything.
But now, Romano reports that Kristensen, who still has two Denmark games to play this month, is due to undergo a medical at Elland Road on Wednesdsay [Today]. Romano says a deal is “done and confirmed”.

It is good news for Leeds fans. The deal for Kristensen has been expected to go through for the last couple of weeks. So for it to actually take a step closer towards completion is really exciting for the club’s supporters.
Leeds will complete their second signing of the summer already – with Victor Orta and Jesse Marsch clearly working in tandem. It sees Marsch reunite with two of his old Salzburg players, that he signed.
What does it mean for Luke Ayling? As he enters his thirties, he might have been better off moving into the middle of his defence anyway. For Cody Drameh and Jamie Shackleton, it might be worth considering loan moves.
