Fabrizio Romano has stated that Inter have currently ‘stopped talks’ to sign Arsenal forward, Folarin Balogun this summer.
The Italian journalist shared the transfer news overnight and added that the 2023 Champions League finalist deem the Arsenal academy product ‘too expensive’, as he posted on Twitter.
It was suggested in July that ‘£30 million’ was turned down by the Gunners from Inter for Folarin Balogun’s goalscoring talents.
With Edin Dzeko moving to Turkey this summer and Romelu Lukaku returning to Chelsea, then it leaves Inter in serious need of firepower ahead of the new Serie A campaign.
After scoring 21 goals for Stade de Reims in France, the stock of Balogun’s is the highest it has ever been, hence the interest, including from AC Milan.
The 22-year-old’s manager at Reims was Englishman Will Still and he described his former student as a ‘super-complete’ player, as he told Sky Sports.

“Inter have currently stopped talks for Folarin Balogun deal as USMNT striker is considered too expensive,” wrote Romano.
Balogun to stay at Arsenal?
The Premier League title-chasers have every right to demand big bucks for their striker, because of the position he plays and how he has come off an outstanding campaign.
Ahead of the new season, manager Mikel Arteta has been slammed for his comments on Balogun in pre-season this summer.
And if the USA international doesn’t leave, then it only boosts Arsenal’s squad even further, so this could prove to be a very good situation for the club.
