According to Fabrizio Romano, Richarlison has changed agents, with Arsenal and Tottenham looking to sign him from Premier League rivals Everton.

What’s the story?

Well, it was said that Arsenal have held talks with the South American over a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Mikel Arteta also faces competition from Antonio Conte in the race to sign Richarlison, in what is sure to be an interesting transfer battle in north London.

However, both Spurs and the Gunners may have to fend off Real Madrid, who are believed to admire the Everton forward.

Now, Romano is claiming that Richarlison wants to leave Goodison Park, and has changed his agent in an attempt to force through a move.

The 25-year-old has already admitted that he spoke to Frank Lampard about his intentions, and those in the boardroom at Everton are also aware.

In 33 appearances for the Toffees this season, Richarlison scored 11 goals, while also providing five assists.

Arsenal & Tottenham should avoid Richarlison

In our view, the Brazil international isn’t what Arsenal or Tottenham need.

Since his £50m move to Everton in 2018, Richarlison has scored 53 goals in 152 appearances, which roughly equates to an average of one goal every three games.

That is a respectable record, but with Arsenal holding aspirations of returning to the Champions League, Arteta needs someone more prolific.

The same goes for Conte, who will need someone happy to sit on the bench behind Harry Kane and Heung-min Son, but also someone consistent enough to make an impact.

In our view, Richarlison just isn’t that striker – if he left his role as the main man at Everton, he would surely want to be a regular starter elsewhere, at the very least.

Additionally, the Toffees surely won’t allow their No.7 to leave for less than the £50m they paid for him, given how important he is to Lampard.

With all of the above taken into consideration, we believe Arsenal and Tottenham should look elsewhere.
