Alexis Mac Allister wants to leave Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of the season, and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are among the clubs interested in him.

That’s according to journalist Graeme Bailey in TEAMtalk.

Bailey has reported that Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea all are interested in signing Mac Allister from Premier League rivals Brighton in the summer transfer window.

If the Seagulls do end up in the European places in the Premier League table this season, than that could potentially change the mind of the midfielder who won the 2022 Qatar World Cup with Argentina.

Brighton do not want to sell the 24-year-old midfielder, described as “unbelievable” and “exceptional” by former Tottenham player Jamie O’Hara on talkSPORT (8:35am, December 19, 2022).

Arsenal target Alexis Mac Allister wants to leave Brighton and Hove Albion

Bailey said: “Alexis Mac Allister wants to leave Brighton this summer. But he has a lot of hurdles to overcome before he can get out of the AMEX.

“Mac Allister signed a new long-term deal just before Argentina’s World Cup campaign, which saw him excel. And it is no real shock to learn that the interest in him is strong with many clubs around Europe keen.

“However, Brighton as it stands are in no mood to sell – given that he only signed his new deal earlier in the season.”

The journalist added: “As we saw with their stance over Moises Caicedo, they stood firm in January and if they decide not to sell they won’t – although could something like that go on for the whole of the summer, am not so sure.”

Bailey concluded: “I am told Brighton’s finishing position could help dictate this, in that if they finish in Europe – that may quell his want to leave.

“But even that may not be enough to convince him not to seek a move especially if the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham come calling…which they might.”

HITC Verdict: Gunners transfer could happen

In our view, if Arsenal are really determined to sign Alexis Mac Allister, then they could be able to sign the 24-year-old midfielder from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window.

Yes, we know that Brighton stopped Moises Caicedo from joining Arsenal in January, but the summer transfer window is much longer.

And the Seagulls will know that they could get a massive transfer fee for Mac Allister due to his impressive performances for Argentina at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
