Spain emerged victorious from their battle with Argentina in the 2026 World Cup final to claim their second ever title.
While Spain dominated the final in New Jersey, defending world champions Argentina were not prepared to go down without a fight – and that is putting it lightly.
After seeing Spain win the World Cup, what's your biggest takeaway from this year's tournament? 🤔
A Ferran Torres goal in extra-time secured a 1-0 win for La Roja, with ugly scenes following the full-time whistle as some of the beaten Argentina players vented their frustration.
It was a dramatic if somewhat unsavory end to a World Cup like no other. With that in mind, here’s a look at every confirmed award winner from the 23rd edition of the biggest tournament in soccer.
Golden Boot winner (Top goalscorer)
France forward Kylian Mbappe won the Golden Boot with ten goals. Lionel Messi (8) finished second and duly won the Silver Boot, while Jude Bellingham claimed the Bronze Boot.

Golden Ball winner (Player of the Tournament)
Spain midfielder Rodri won the Golden Ball, which is handed to the Player of the Tournament.
Messi finished second and took home the Silver Ball, while the aforementioned Mbappe won the Bronze Ball.
Golden Glove winner (Best goalkeeper)
Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon won the Golden Glove, which recognizes the best goalkeeper in the tournament.
Simon conceded just one goal in eight games, keeping seven clean sheets.
FIFA Best Young Player award
Spanish central defender Pau Cubarsi won the FIFA Best Young Player of the tournament award.
FIFA Fair Play Trophy (Team with the best disciplinary record in the tournament)
While it was a disappointing exit for the Netherlands following its round of 32 exit to Morocco on penalties, they do take one award home.
Clearly, it is scant consolation to a country who have reached three World Cup finals (1974, 1978, 2010), but they did win the Fair Play Trophy for having the best disciplinary record.
