England will play Argentina in the 2026 World Cup semi-final.

It is difficult to think of a bigger game for both sides at this stage of the tournament.

The two are bitter rivals and World Cup meetings between them over the years have been packed with incidents to say the least.

After watching that Jude Bellingham display, is he now in contention to be player of the tournament? If not, who is ahead of him? 🤩

A generational talent 🌟

From the infamous Hand of God in 1986 to David Beckham’s red card in 1998 and his subsequent redemption in 2002, it’s a meeting that never disappoints.

Here’s everything you need to know as the World Cup approaches its final stages.

England vs Argentina date, kick-off time and venue

England vs Argentina is scheduled for a 3pm EDT (8pm BST) kick-off time on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

The Atlanta Stadium (Mercedes-Benz Stadium) will host the match.

As it stands, Argentina are not thought to have any major fitness worries heading into the game.

England vs Argentina head to head record (h2h) history and results

The last meeting between the two sides came way back in 2005, which was a friendly England won 3-2 in Geneva. An interesting quirk in Lionel Messi’s storied career is that he has never played against England.

In total, there have been 14 meetings between the two teams. England have won six of them, while Argentina have won five and there have been three draws.

England beat Argentina at the 1962, 1966 and 2002 World Cups but lost in 1986 and 1998.
