Jude Bellingham carried England on his back during the quarterfinal game against Norway.

On paper, England may have looked like a better team than Norway, but the quarterfinal game turned out to be closer than expected.

In fact, Jude Bellingham was the differentiating factor for England after the Norwegians took the lead in the first half.

Brazilian football star Pele displays the FIFA World Cup during its presentation in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on February 6, 2010. The cup is being exhibited in numerous countries while on a tour before reaching South Africa for the FIFA World Cup tournament that will be held next June.

Jude Bellingham becomes the second-youngest player to score back-to-back braces after Pele

The importance of Bellingham’s brace can’t be understated as the Three Lions ended up registering a 2-1 win. In the process, Bellingham joined the World Cup history books.

“Aged 23y 12d, Jude Bellingham is the second-youngest player to score 2+ goals in successive FIFA World Cup knockout stage games behind only Pelé in 1958 (17y 249d),” OptaJoe revealed on X.

Featuring on a list with Brazilian legend Pele is never a small deal, especially on a list that is exclusive to the World Cup.

Overall, it has been a memorable tournament for Bellingham as he has already recorded six goals and one assist in six games so far.

Can the 23-year-old continue this form in the semifinals against Argentina or Switzerland? Only time will tell.
